About us

Our core mission statement

As an organisation we:

  • Collectively and strategically work to enhance the overall scope and quality of music education in SA

  • Collaboratively ensure the provision and delivery of accessible, sustainable, authentic, developmental and sequential life-long musical learning opportunities to all people across South Australia

How do we achieve this?

  • Promote the significance of music education and the right of each child to quality music education throughout the schooling years.

  • Chart the current state of music education in SA

  • Develop initiatives to fill the existing gaps in services/provisions

  • Strategically advocate for music education funding, resources and recognition as a collective group

  • Partner and collaborate with arts organisations of SA to provide a broad range of progressive musical opportunities and projects that extend musical experiences beyond the classroom walls

  • Work closely with schools and professional associations to ensure that children and teachers are supported in delivering the Australian Curriculum for music

  • Acknowledge that diverse musical genres, including singing and vocal music, are relevant to a holistic music education

  • Provide streamlined and up-to-date information to schools, students and community members on relevant services, events, research and educational programs, as a way of facilitating ease of access to quality music learning opportunities (online/printed)

  • Consider collective projects where music is the driving force for social change
